DENTAL HYGIENISTS

Roni

Registered Dental Hygienist

Roni McWilliam has been a Hygienist for over 30 years.  She came to help us with summer holidays about 3 years ago and we happily added her to our team.
Roni loves to travel, and her passion is sailing and swimming.  Wellness is extremely important to her with growing up with a father with 6 health food stores and a mother as a nurse.
She has taken many courses over the years, but the one that has stood out to her the most is a smoking cessation course and has helped many clients quit smoking with her soft approach on the subject.
Roni’s Hygiene Tip: Electric toothbrushes are the way to go! They remove plaque more effectively and reduce toothbrush abrasion.

Jack

Registered Dental Hygienist

Jack joined the practice as a new dental hygiene graduate in August of 2019 at George Brown College, fresh with the most updated knowledge in the dental hygiene field.
He enjoys discussing oral hygiene improvement plans with his clients and passionately believes good oral hygiene is a major contribution to overall health.
If there is one thing he dislikes, that would be clients unable to book dental hygiene appointments because we do not have time available, he may make time just for you!
In his free time, he likes to play video games, spending time with his family and trying out new hobbies!
Jack is an active member of CDHO and CDHA and is always interested in reading new research.
Jack’s Hygiene Tip: Did you know that calcium and milk proteins can help to reduce risk of dental decay, provide protection from acidic meals, and prevent periodontal disease?  Next time if you or your kids are about to eat sugary snacks, throw some Cheddar or Jack (heh) cheese into the mix to protect your teeth!

Laurie’s Hygiene Tip: It is important to understand that your mouth is a gateway to the rest of your body, thus oral health reflects your overall health!

TorY

Registered Dental Hygienist

Tory graduated from the Dental Hygiene program at George Brown in 2011, then practiced in Vancouver and Toronto at general and periodontal clinics before relocating back to her hometown of KW in 2019.
Tory enjoys continuing dental education, getting to know her patients and helping them improve their oral health by establishing collaborative individual care plans.
Tory’s Hygiene Tip:  Do not underestimate the power of flossing! Not only will it remove bacteria and food debris between the teeth, but it will also help reduce tooth decay and gingivitis. To use: Gently guide the floss between your teeth using a back-and-forth motion (never snap the floss), when the floss reaches the gumline, curve it into a ‘c’ shape and slide it up and down reaching below the gum line. Repeat on each tooth and do not forget the back of your last tooth!  Ask your dental hygienist what oral care products are best suited for you!
